Jerrilyn Malana is a Chief Deputy District Attorney with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, where she serves as Special Counsel and Chief of Human Resources. Prior to joining the DA’s Office, Jerrilyn was an employment law attorney and shareholder at the global law firm Littler Mendelson, PC. She currently serves as President of the California Lawyers Foundation. Jerrilyn also serves on the Board of the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC), a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank that seeks to inform and improve public policy in California. She is a past President of the San Diego County Bar Association.

Over the course of her career, Jerrilyn has served on a wide range of nonprofit boards, including those focused on the legal profession, educational access and advancement, health and human services, domestic violence prevention, and the creative arts. She remains active in promoting the importance of civic education and engagement as essential to a healthy and vibrant democracy. Jerrilyn has been recognized by numerous organizations for her volunteer service in the community and was inducted into the San Diego County Women’s Hall of Fame as a “Trailblazer.”

Jerrilyn is a proud alumna and longtime volunteer of UC San Diego. Previously, she served as President of the UC San Diego Alumni Board of Directors. Jerrilyn also served as Chair of Chancellor’s Associates.
