Barry C. Johnson

Barry C. Johnson had a 27-year career in industry, rising to such executive positions as Corporate Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the Semiconductor Products Sector of Motorola, Inc. and Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Honeywell International, Inc. He also spent 10 years in academia as Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Arizona and Dean of the College of Engineering at Villanova University.

Elected to the Board of Trustees in 2023, he is the current Chair of the Donor Relations and Stewardship Committee. He has also served on the boards of three public corporations, and the advisory boards of many universities, governmental agencies and industrial consortia. Barry received his BS in mechanical engineering from Villanova University and MS and Ph.D. in metallurgical engineering and materials science from Carnegie-Mellon University. He is the recipient of numerous professional honors, including induction into the National Academy of Engineering and the Fraunhofer Applied Research Society (Germany).
