Mr. Koenigsberger is the Founder, Chief Investment Officer, and Managing Partner of Gramercy, which he established in 1998 with the goal of building a global, institutional investment management firm focused on emerging markets. With 39 years of investment experience, Mr. Koenigsberger specializes in distressed and opportunistic credit strategies. Before founding Gramercy, Mr. Koenigsberger was a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers, leading the sovereign debt restructuring group, and previously a Vice President at Merrill Lynch, trading emerging markets debt in New York, London, and Hong Kong. Earlier, at CR-P Associates, Mr. Koenigsberger managed sovereign debt restructurings and related transactions in Latin America.

Mr. Koenigsberger serves on the Lauder Institute’s Board of Governors at The Wharton School, chairs the Industry Advisory Council at the Kroner Center for Financial Research at UC San Diego, and has held leadership roles with the Millbrook School. Mr. Koenigsberger holds an MBA in Finance from Wharton, an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Latin American Political Science and History, with a minor in Economics,  from UC San Diego, graduating with honors.
